Four-year-olds
In the semi-final, the four-year-old horses will complete a table A jumping course. The maximum height of the obstacles is 1.10m. The horses will be judged by a jury on their jumping characteristics and going between the fences. These marks will be added up, with the mark for jumping counting double.
The best 25 four-year-olds from the semi-final go through to the final, where they will again be judged on points. In the final, the finalists start with a clean slate. The horse with the highest number of points in the final becomes the KWPN champion.

Five, six and seven year olds
The semi-final for five-, six-, and seven-year-olds consists of two parts. In the first round, the horses compete in a Table A course with a time allowance according to article 238.2.a. In case of equality of penalty points for the last place in the final, the time ridden in the second phase of the second round of the semi-final will be decisive. In the event of an equality of penalty points for the last place in the final, all competitors with the same number of penalty points and the same time may participate in the final. In the second event, all combinations from the first event will come into action and the horses will jump in two phases according to Article 274.5.f. The classification of the semi-final shall be made by adding the penalty points obtained in the first and second part of the semi-final. All horses shall start with a clean slate in the final, which means that the result of the semi-final no longer plays a role in the classification of the final.
For the five-, six- and seven-year-olds, there is a small final for the horses that have not been placed for the final, so that all horses can compete for three days.
The final of the Blom Cup is also a selection for the World Championships young show jumpers at the end of September in Lanaken.
