Highlight for the CSI2* riders was the Big Tour Grand Prix on Sunday. There were 98 combinations and 18 of them stayed clear in the initial round and qualified for the jump-off. In the final battle it was Ireland’s Michael G Duffy who clocked the fastest time with his Westphalian gelding Chappo Chey (Carell x Cornet Obolensky). He stopped the clock at 38.41 seconds. Afterwards the 23-year-old rider, who runs a stable with his family in Knockmore, said: “I am really pleased with the win in the 2* Grand Prix with my horse Chappo Chey. He jumped his heart out in both rounds and in the jump-off he gave everything for me. I rode really fast and he was really on my side and helped me out today. I am really pleased with my horse, he really deserved the win. He has been knocking on the door lately, he was third a few weeks ago in the Grand Prix of Drammen.”
Runners-up were Britain’s Jack Whitaker and Parkmore Rowan (ISH, Russel x Cruising). The 19-year-old son of Michael Whitaker had a clear round in 38.80 seconds. Olivier Philippaerts (BEL) finished in third place with Le Blue Diamond van ‘t Ruytershof (BWP, Plot Blue x Diamant de Semilly).

Young Horses
French top rider Simon Delestre won the Young Horses final. The 39-year-old Delestre, member of the GCL Hamburg Giants, rode a clear round in 34.18 seconds with the seven-year-old stallion I Amelusina R (ZANG, Dexter R x Chin Chin). Canada’s Chris Pratt finished runner-up with the seven-year-old BWP mare Newberry Balia Nl (Emerald x Vincenzo). Pratt won the first competition for young horses on Friday. Laura Klaphake took third place for Germany with the mare Diachacca Rouge (OS, Diarado x Chacco-Blue).

Medium and Small Tour
Victory in the Medium Tour was for the Italian rider Lorenzo de Luca with the stallion Telstar de la Pomme (SF, Nabab de Reve x For Pleasure) with a clear round in 34.19 seconds. Emilia Housen and Gentleman (OLD, Guidam x Cambridge) finished runners-up for Belgium and Holland’s Bart Bles took third place with Expert (KWPN, Otangelo x Mermus R).
There was a hat-trick for Ines van den Bosch in the Small Tour when she also won the third competition (1.35m) today. This time the Belgium rider saddled Go Go. “Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought to win all 3 classes with my two horses,” said Ines enthusiastically. “They have been amazing these 2 weeks and I couldn’t have wished for anything better. With my father winning his classe, it’s such a privilege to do this together with him.”
The Small Tour 1.25m class was won by Britain’s James Fischer with Amiro.
