Van den Bosch Family wins again

In addition to the highlight of Saturday, the GC Grand Prix of Valkenswaard presented by TENNOR, there were fierce battles for victory in the CSI2* and CSIYH1* classes. Both father Danny van den Bosch and daughter Ines repeated their wins of Friday in the Small Tour. Ines won the 1.35m class with the same horse, Ecoliene (KWPN, Warrant x Indoctro) and Danny was the winner of the 1.25m competition with the BWP stallion Jade van Dorperheide (Zilverstar T x Parco).The starting list of the Young Horse class (1.30/1.35m against the clock) this morning presented 55 combinations. Canada’s Chris Pratt, 21st starter clocked an incredible fast time that could not be beaten by the next 34 riders. He passed the finish line in 64.63 seconds with the seven-year-old BWP mare Newberry Balia Nl (Emerald x Vincenzo). The 51-year-old Pratt runs his own stables, Epic Stables, with a facility in Wellington (USA) and Helmond (NED). Switzerland’s Jane Richard Philips finished runner-up with Oetsjakov NL (BWP, Emerald). Belgium’s Wilm Vermeir finished third with N-Joy van ‘t Hellewater (2014, BWP, Elvis ter Putte x Bentley vd Heffinck).
Victory in the Big Tour (1.45m) went to British top rider Scott Brash with the 11-year-old Hannoverian gelding Hello Shelby. He defeated Germany’s Marcus Ehning with the nine-year-old Oldenburger stallion Stargold (Stakkato Gold x Lord Weingard). Third place again went to Belgium’s Wilm Vermeir with Joyride S (BWP, Toulon x Pachat II).
Angelique Rüsen took top honours in the Medium Tour (1.40m) with Atze (2009, WESTF, Arpeggio x Potsdam) for Germany. Holland’s Remco Been finished runner-up with Balou van het Molenhof Z followed by Poland’s Andrzej Oplated with Le Cordial in third.
