Release date: 06/09/2020

Exciting action and a great atmosphere were the keywords for the third competition day at Tops International Arena. Again five competition including two Finals: one for the young horses and the Big Tour Grand Prix.

Young Horses
The first two days Ireland’s Denis Lynch was unbeatable, but in today’s Final it was his compatriot Darragh Kenny who was the fastest in the jump-off with Chester (HANN, Chambers x Cosinhus). He also took the runner-up spot with Dakota de l’Ardrais (SF, Urleven du Bary x Elan de la Cour). “I’m thrilled with my horses today, it’s great to be able to bring young horses to compete in the big arena and top-level atmosphere of Tops International Arena, it’s invaluable for their development and learning. To be placed first and second is incredible, I’m very pleased. It’s been a great show, the facilities are top class and I’m looking forward to coming back next week for the 5* show.”

Big Tour
Belgium’s Skye Morssinkhof won the Big Tour Grand Prix with her KWPN mare G-Vingino-Blue (VDL Zirocco Blue x Orame). Skye was thrilled with her win: “The show is lovely with nice classes and a nice field of participants. My horse is just the best, she always fights for me. All credits are for her. I never ever thought I would win! Still can’t believe it, considering all the amazing participants. In the jump off the plan just worked out perfectly.”
Runner-up was Skye’s compatriot Wilm Vermeir with King Kong d’Avifauna and Britain’s Ellen Whitaker took third place with Jack van ‘t Kattenheye.

Medium and Small Tour
He won the first Medium Tour competition on Friday with Hello Diamant and today François Mathy Jr repeated this performance with the SBS stallion Casanova de l’Herse (Ugano Sitte x Kashmir van Schuttershof). The Small Tour 1.25m class was won by Britain’s James Fisher and Iline (KWPN, Cardento 933 x Casall). Holland’s Teddy van de Rijt led the prizegiving line-up in the 1.35m competition. She was by far the fastest in the jump-off with her KWPN mare Herma (Ukato x Oklund).

Riders now look ahead to next week's CSI5* competition including the GC Grand Prix of Valkenswaard and the GCL of Valkenswaard from 10-13 September, with the lineup of world-class riders announced tomorrow.
