Centre Stage for young riders at Tops International Arena
Release date: 27/08/2020
From Friday to Sunday this week young riders will be centre stage at the world class venue in The Netherlands for Global Future Champions. It will be a golden opportunity for young talent to shine in competitions for U25, pony riders, juniors and children.A dedicated focus on the development of next generation talent in show jumping - a key mission for both Tops International Arena and the GCL where teams must have an U25 rider.
One of these young talents is Germany’s Zoe Osterhoff, who won the Young Riders Final of the Global Future Champions in 2018. In 2020 she was offered the chance to take it all a step further when she was invited to join the GCL team Hamburg Giants to learn from the experience of skilled riders such as Simon Delestre (FRA) and Lauren Hough (USA).
However, the 21-year-old from Osnabrück was not yet given the chance to start in the Global Champions League due to the Covid-19 pandemic. “I did go to Doha, but the rest of the season had to be cancelled unfortunately. It is what it is and I am looking forward to next year’s LGCT season. I am very grateful that the organisation of Tops International Arena in Valkenswaard is organising these three events and is giving us the chance to perform again in such a great entourage. I will start in all three events, the Global Future Champions (28-30 August), the CSI2* (4-6 September) and the CSI5* (10-13 September).” Zoe will start in the Young Riders and the U25 tour during the Global Future Champions and will bring two of her best horses, Ferrari VDL (U25) and Chacenny (YR).
