Two victories for Thibault Philippaerts
Release date: 20/07/2019
Thibault Philippaerts recorded two victories on Saturday. The younger brother of Belgian top riders Nicola and Olivier won the U25 1.45m/1.50m class with Cassi Lano C (HOLST, Cassini I x Wisma) with a super fast round in 61.45 seconds. At the end of the afternoon he won the Young Riders class (1.45/1.50m) with the KWPN mare Fubertha (Nabab de Rêve x Burggraaf). He was happy with the performance of his mare: “She did a fantastic job. A good fast round in a great course.”Holland’s Lisa Bongers took victory in the U25 1.35/1.40m class with the KWPN gelding Elixer (Zacharov x Indorado). “Elixer is very powerful and has a covering canter. The course had nice long lines and that why I could win,” said Lisa afterwards. She hopes to go into the right direction to be able, one day, to start in Aachen or Calgary and to compete in the Olympics. Two more Belgian victories: Gilles Thomas won, as he did yesterday, the 1.40m class for Young Riders with the Holsteiner mare Evita. The 16-year-old Delphine Kindt won the 1.20/1.25m class for Juniors with Geisha (KWPN). Holland’s Caro-Belle de Hornois won the other Juniors class (1.35/1.40m) with Idyllis L, with whom she won the silver team medal at the European Championships for Children in 2017. She finished eighth individually.
Victory in the childrens class was for Sweden’s Ebba Danielsson with Eunomia. The pony riders had three competitions to battle for the first prize: Britain’s India Piper-Dadswell won the 1.10m class with Amelia, Aline Sercu headed the prizegiving of the 1.15/1.20m with Nero van de Bucxtale and last but not least 14-year-old Ryan Sweetnam had the fastest round in the 1.25/1.30m class with Perseus Spartacus for Ireland.
