Ladies rule in 1*!

Release date: 13/05/2019

The ladies were well represented at the prizegiving ceremonies during the first day of the CSI1*. Both the Big Tour and the Medium Tour were won by lady riders.
Jillian Terceira won the Big Tour (Table A, 2 Phases) with a round that was over three seconds faster with the BWP mare Iluna di Cantero (Quadrillo x Contender). Last week she also won a 135m class with the same  horse. The rest of the podium were ladies too: the USA’s Laura Kraut finished runner-up with Greatfull (WESTF) followed by Belgium’s Marian De Wachter with Darcotique v’t Meulenhof (SBS, Marius Claudius I x Quidam de Revel).
Mary Kate Olsen (USA) won the Medium Tour with the mare Naomi (SWB, Camaro M x Napoleon). The fashion designer defeated Britain’s William Rekert with Hot Bluebird (KWPN, Plot Blue x Heartbreaker) with a fast round in 30.50 seconds. Rekert’s compatriot Claire Beecroft finished in third place with Vanda Cartier (KWPN, Lord Z x Rubert R).
The ladies’ hegemony was broken by Britain’s Harry Bateman with Belladonna V (Legolas x Concept) in the Small Tour. Bateman and Belladonna’s owner Harriet Jordan were thrilled about the victory. Jordan, who bought Belladonna last year: “I immediately fell in love with this horse and she has so many qualities.”  It was also without doubt that Harry was going to ride her. “We are friends for a long time, I like the way he handles and trains the horses. I am very, very, very happy with rider and horse!” Caroline Breen finished runner-up with Dokyra Fortuna (KWPN, Canturano x Quasimodo Z) followed by Mary Kate Olsen with Dunotaire V (KWPN, Numero Uno x Voltaire), a mare formerly ridden by Danielle Goldstein.
