CSI2*: Belgian party

The Belgian riders were doing good business in the CSI2*: Jeroen Appelen, Jos Verlooy and Karl Cox won all three classes of Monday’s programme. Verlooy won the Small Tour in the morning with Kontador VDM. Holland’s Teddy van de Rijt finished runner-up with Itcho van ‘t Ruytershof followed by Brazil’s Yuri Mansur Guerios with Late Night S.In the afternoon it was Karel Cox who was leading the line-up for the prizegiving ceremony. The rider from Eksel is believes in the potential of his eight-year-old Oldenburger mare Cava: “She has a very good attitude and is very, very fast.” Runners-up were Ilaria Sutera and Tabriz de Labarde for Monaco. Marocco’s Abdelkebir Ouaddar finished in third place with Istanbull VH Ooienvaarshof.
The last class, a Table A 1.45m, was won by Jeroen Appelen with Grappeloup van het Reenhof. He was over a second faster than Britain’s Trevor Breen with Serpico. Third place was also for Belgium: Vicky van de Poel and Jay Jay van de Mottelhoeve.
