The Irish riders were very successful during the second day of the first event. They won Young Horses, CSI1* and CSI2* classes.
 
CSI2*
Denis Lynch took first prize in the Big Tour with his impressive stallion All Star 5 (Hann., Argentinus x Alme). Lynch is riding the 15-year-old stallion internationally since 2011 and they had already a lot of victories. Runners-up were Belgium’s Gregory Wathelet and Qualido (Hann., Quicksilber x Calido). Gregory currently takes the 11 position in the Longines Global Champions Tour Rankings. Third place was for the USA’s top rider Laura Kraut with SFS Vincomte (AES, Veni Vidi Vici x Magic Darco).
Spain’s Armando Trapote won the Medium Tour competition with the fast eight-year-old stallion Jet Run (by Chacco Blue). The 37-year-old rider from Cadiz steered the light-footed and flexible stallion in the second round over the finish line in 37.20 seconds. It was the pair’s first international victory in a 1.40m class. Runner-up was Italy’s Roberto Previtali with Florette van het Lambroeck (38.67) followed by Emily Moffitt and Copain du Perchet CH for Great Britain (41.50).
Britain’s Jemma Kirk won the Small Tour class with the 14-year-old SF gelding Quelisto (J’ai l’Espoir d’Elle x Starter). Jemma was very happy with the result “Quelisto was injured last year and we only took up training again in the beginning of this year. It is great that he is doing so well again.” Jemma has her own training stables in Le Pin, near Deauville. In 2009 she became European Young Riders Champion and she hopes to reach the same level with the seniors. Patrick McEntee (AZB) and April Mury Marais Z finished runners-up and Jaime Gabarron Jimenez (ESP) took third place with Supreme du Milon.

CSI 1*
The Big Tour class had 57 combinations of which 22 stayed clear. Fastest round came from Germany’s Alexander Hufenstuhl met Chacira (OS, Chacco-Blue x Calvaro). The 30-year-old rider from Lindlar stopped the clock at 63.28 seconds which was nearly three seconds faster than runner-up Kristine Seierstad from Norway who finished her round with Fairplay in 66.15 seconds. Third place went to Holland’s Marwin van Nieuwenhuijzen and Fabulous (68.17).
The result of the Small Tour class was nearly the same as yesterday. It was again British rider Caroline Breen who headed the prizegiving line-up. She jumped the course, a Table A against the clock, in 66.96 seconds with Kilmastulla Douglas. Sebastian Bishop finished runner-up, like yesterday, with Springsteen Z. Third place went to Australia’s Georgina Harvey with Clintokia.
De Medium Tour was won by Harry Allen, the younger brother of Bertram. Harry is only 17-years-old, but has been very successful already. In 2017 he won team gold at the European Championships for Ponies. His is determined to match his brother’s level and success. Harry rode the KWPN mare Fairytale (Verdi TN x Cantos). Caroline Breen finished runner-up with Farina. The British rider is doing very well at Tops International Arena. She won two classes so far. Third place went to Mexico’s Mariel Victoria Aguirre and Uranie.
