Great talents in Young Horses classes

Release date: 14/05/2018

This morning 58 talented young horses entered the arena for the first class for the six-year-olds. Victory went to Belgium’s Melanie Gelin and the Zangersheide mare Attoucha Hero Z (Aganix Du Seigneur x Diamant de Semilly). The 37-year-old rider from Liège is hard to beat. Last month she won several classes in Lanaken with the same horse. The runner-up spot was for Austria’s Christian Rhomberg with Come On (Westf., Comme Il Faut x Captain Fire) with Canada’s Braden James in close third (0.03 seconds) with Haley (KWPN, Quality Time TN).
Later this morning the 24-year-old Canadian won the competition for five-year-olds. This time he had saddled the KWPN mare I Am Special CB (I’m Special de Muze x Whitaker) with which he jumped a super fast round. Runners-up were 22-year-old Dutch Nadieh Plegt and Isanne (KWPN, Dakar VDL x Larino). Ireland’s Conor McMahon finished in third place with Iris (KWPN, Starpower x Larino).
The seven-year-olds showed off their talent in the beautiful main arena. Spain’s Jaime Gabarron Jimenez had the fastest clear round of the 46 combinations with Mago de Quijas (v. Indoctro). “Mago has a great character and would be a very suitable horse for an amateur who wants to jump 1.40/1.45m courses. I ride her since she was four-years-old.” The 30-year-old rides for the breeder and owner of Mago, Ramon Bustamante de la Mora (Yeguada de Quijas), and is based in El Espinar near Madrid. The USA’s top rider Laura Kraut was runner-up with Greatfull (Westf.) followed by Holland’s Vincent Voorn with Ginger Ale (KWPN, Tyson x Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve).
