Great finals at Tops International Arena

The third day of the Global Future Champions presented four finals. The first, the final for U25 riders (1.50m), was won by Roberto Previtali, who rides for Stal Tops, and Sirius du Granit (Orlando x Calypso de Moyon). The Italian is riding Sirius since two months and “he is a great horse to ride, he has a lot of blood, he is careful and is focused.” Roberto is trained by Jan Tops and Massimo Maggiore. Runners-up were Belgium’s Rachel Steffen and Uncanto du Villagana. They were only 0.02 slower in the jump-off. Third place went to Hamad Ali Mohamed A Al Attiyah with Clinton for Qatar.
 
The top three in the Young Riders final (1.45/1.50m) was completely Belgian. Winner was Dieter Vermeiren and his gelding Kingston Town 111 Z (Kashmir van Schuttershof x Chellano Z). They were the only combination to stay clear in the jump-off. “In the beginning Kingston Town was a bit insecure because the footing was a bit slippery due to the rain, but during the round he became more confident,” Dieter said afterwards. He rides Kingston Town for three years and trained him himself up to this level. “In the beginning we had to get to know each other, but now we are a super team.” Dieter is trained by his father, who is also a veterinarian. Gilles Thomas finished runner-up with Indiana vh Kapelhof followed by Dries Goossens with Gina.
 
Holland’s Sven Peters took victory in the Juniors’ Final (1.35/1.40m) with his mare Channel. He did not see it coming he smilingly said afterwards. Recently he also won the National Junior Championships with the same horse and they are selected for the European Championships in Samorin in Slovakia. The KWPN mare (Rascin x Wolfgang) is ridden by Sven since the beginning of 2015 and they are trained by Remco Been. Remco: “She is a horse with much power, a real fighter and I can always rely on her.  Germany’s Max Haunhorst finished second with Chaccara and Dieter Vermeiren took third place with Corland for Belgium.
 
Milja Esser from Germany won the final for pony riders (1.25/1.30m) with her mare Antine (Holst, Cachas x Calvadu). Antine was the fastest in the jump-off for which six combinations had qualified. Belgium’s Amber Frederick finished runner-up with Easter BB followed by Magnus Schmidt with An Angel for Germany.
