Day 1: superb beginning at Tops International Arena

The first day of this inaugural event staged at the stunning complex Tops International Arena in Valkenswaard offered everything that makes an event a great experience. Great sport on all levels, a very pleasant and friendly ambiance and, of course, the exceptional good weather.Monday’s main class saw Ibrahim Hani Bisharat from Jordan race to victory after a very exciting jump-off. He rode his 13-year-old stallion Bowie Z (ZANG, Balou du Rouet x Jumpilot) who was a lot faster, almost four seconds, than second placed Cas de Liberté of Niels Bruynseels from Belgium. Third place went to his namesake and compatriot Niels Knape with Suarez.
Italy’s Emanuele Gaudiano did exceptionally well in Valkenswaard by winning two classes, the CSI1* for six-year-olds with Darlanda (NRPS, Calendro x Baloubet du Rouet) and the CSI2* Medium Tour with Carlotta 232 (OS, Chaccomo x Cento). The competition for seven-year-olds was won by they young German rider Alexander Hufenstuhl from Lindlar with the seven-year-old gelding Benur du Romet (DTPF, Balou du Rouet x Damour). Belgium’s Jan Geukens had the fastest clear round in the five-year-old competition with Guschenka (KWPN, Namelus x Acorado).
