Martin Fuchs started riding at the age of five as both his parents were involved in the sport at international level. His father Thomas represented Switzerland at the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games and his uncle is Olympic silver medallist Markus Fuchs. He was a successful Junior and Young Rider, winning individual gold at the 2012 Young Rider European Championships with Principal 12 and individual silver in 2011.
The Swiss youngster also competed at the 2010 Youth Olympics Games in Singapore on Midnight Mist. The pair won gold in the mixed team event and was placed ninth individually.
Martin won team bronze at the 2015 European Championships aboard Clooney 51 and individual gold at the 2019 Europeans in Rotterdam. He attended his first Olympic Games in 2016 (Rio de Janeiro) with the same horse, finishing sixth with the team and ninth as an individual.With Clooney 51, Martin finished fourth in the 2017 World Cup Final in Omaha.
