Cassio began riding at his father's farm aged 7 because his father loved horses. Originally from Brazil, Cassio began riding for Ukraine in January 2009. He came to Europe after finishing university to develop his riding skills, and was invited by Rodrigo and Nelson Pessoa to work for them at Haras de Ligny in Belgium. He stayed there until 2007, when he was invited to represent Ukraine by businessman and show jumper Oleksandr Onyshchenko.
Cassio has represented Ukraine in a European Championships, World Championships and an Olympics. Overall, his most memorable career moment is competing in the World Equestrian Games in 2006 (for Brazil) where he finished 10th individually.
Verdi and Temple Road are among the finest horses of his career and his father, Luiz Rivetti, has been his life's greatest influence. Nelson Pessoa is his hero. His motto is: "keep working and you will arrive" and his aim is to win Gold at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
