Born in Rambouillet in 1965, Patrice Delaveau took his first steps on horseback at the age of six, since his parents run an equestrian center in the Eure Roger Beaumont, France. As a teenager, Patrice won successive Championships in France and Europe in Cadets, Junior and Young Rider categories. At 21, Patrice won a Team Bronze medal at the 1986 World Championships with Laeken - he was the youngest French rider ever to win a medal at a major event.

As a frequent member of the French international team, Patrice has ridden key rounds for the international team and won a number of high profile Grand Prix throughout his career. In 2013, Patrice became the first man since 1971 to win the La Baule Derby and Grand Prix in the same weekend. In 2014, Patrice won an Individual and Team World Championship medal.
