Abdullah began riding aged seven at Hickstead in the UK because his parents encouraged and supported him. In his early years, he trained with Peter Charles, the Anglo-Irish show jumper and 2012 Olympic Gold medallist. He made his international debut for Saudi Arabia at Hickstead in 1998.
The most influential person in Abdullah's career has been ex-coach Stanny van Paesschen. His proudest moment so far is winning a Silver medal at the 2010 World Championships.
Abdullah's philosophy is, "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. What goes around comes around. Never give up." His ambition is to win a World Championship Gold medal.
