- Julia Lynch
- Competing for: Australia
Julia began riding aged seven at the Royal Hong Kong Jockey Club in Hong Kong. Her mother was a keen rider and her father enjoys thoroughbred breeding so she became involved through them. “Ever since I was a kid, I knew I was going to ride horses for the rest of my life.”
She moved to Holland in May 2011 to prepare for the London 2012 Olympic Games with fellow Australian show jumper Edwina Tops-Alexander. “I was incredibly lucky to have a mentor like Edwina, she has been a huge inspiration and has always been incredibly generous with her knowledge. I'm very glad I moved to Europe when I did, I really needed the time to adjust to the conditions and the surroundings.”
Julia is currently based in Germany, where she manages her own stables, Copabella Sporthorses.
