Profiles
Son of six time Olympic rider Luis Alvarez de Cervera, Eduardo could only have been a top rider. Starting riding at 3, Eduardo also began to compete at this young age. He got his first Gold Medal around 10 years old with his pony Nanouk during the Spanish Championships. Comparison with his father being obvious, Eduardo said “Improving what he has achieved will be very difficult, but I will try”.
After a bad injury in a skiing accident in 2012 that required a surgery, he began jumping again the next year. Eduardo won his very first 5* Grand Prix early 2017.
His advice for all riders: “The most important thing for a rider is to have clear and well-marked objectives. The percentage of effectiveness is not always set by the rider, it largely depends on the horse”.
