Mark's parents John and Sarah were show jumpers at international level so naturally Mark followed in their footsteps and had early success, representing Ireland in the 2004 Junior European Championships. In 2009, Mark left his father's stable in Ireland and moved to Italy. He trained young horses in a trading stable for two years before moving to the yard of Italian jumper Lalla Novo in Cervia, Italy in 2011. Mark has been placed in the top ten of a number of LGCT 5* classes since he joined the Tour.
