Profiles
Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum was born and raised in Los Angeles and had a successful career as a Young Rider, both in equitation (style) classes and in show jumping. In 1991 during a break from her university studies, Meredith travelled to Germany to train with Paul Schockemöhle. She stayed with Schockemöhle for three years and remained in Germany. She met fellow rider Markus Beerbaum at a show in Munich and they married in 1998. Meredith changed her citizenship from USA to Germany.
Meredith has enjoyed an incredibly successful relationship with the temperamental but supremely talented Hanoverian gelding Shutterfly, with whom she won three FEI World Cup Finals making her the first woman in history to do so. Meredith and Shutterfly also won a World Championship Individual and Team Bronze and came fourth individually in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
