Olympic medallist Beat Mändli started riding at the age of 10. His father was a horse dealer and the family had some 50 horses at home.During his Junior career Mändli went to Ted and Liz Edgar’s farm in England. After a Mändli returned to Switzerland and his father’s stables.

He was coach and trainer of the Swiss jumping team that won the bronze medal at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. He has also coached individual jumpers including Swiss jumper Steve Guerdat and British jumper Ben Maher.

As an athleet he has also had an impressive career so far. He won team silver at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney with Pozitano and he won the World Cup Final in 2007 with Ideo du Thot.

Beat made his debut in the LGCT in 2010.
