  • Reed Kessler
  • Competing for: United States
  • From: Lexington
  • Age: 30

Reed Kessler began riding at six months old as both her parents were riders, so they put her in a basket on her first pony. At 18, she was named in the US show jumping team for the 2012 Olympic Games in London, making her the youngest show jumping competitor in Olympic history. Reed’s heroes are US equestrian riders Beezie Madden, McLain Ward and Laura Kraut.

Reed and her family have a few superstitions: "I wear lucky USA socks from the Young Rider Tour for the really big classes. My dad has a lucky baseball hat and he always holds our dog Mouse while I'm in the ring. When we are in Florida, my mum always watches from the same place."
