  • Competing for: Germany
  • From: Mechelen
  • Age: 43

Daniel Deusser began riding as a child because his family loved horses and years later, his parents remain the biggest influences in his career. Daniel tried all kinds of sports as a boy and even qualified for the BMX regional championships in his area.

Daniel started at Siegfried Herröder's stable at nineteen where he stayed for six months until Siegfried recommended him to Franke Sloothaak who was looking for a new rider. Daniel went on to represent Germany in the Young Rider European Championships in 2002 where his team finished 4th. It was also through Siegfried Herröder that Daniel would end up at Stal Tops in The Netherlands four years later.

In 2007, Daniel finished 2nd in his first FEI World Cup Final with Air Jordan Z. In 2012, Daniel became stable rider at Stephex Stables. In 2014, Daniel won both the German Championship and the FEI World Cup Final.

His favourite horses have been Air Jordan Z and Cornet D'Amour, and his advice to other riders is to always keep on trying.

His advice for having a successful career: "A great rider is one who always wants to learn, who never sits still, who never thinks that he is finished with his career, one who always tries to get better."
