Profiles
Hans-Dieter grew up with horses and began horseback riding in his father’s riding school when he was a child. At seven he attended his first competition and was subsequently Junior Area Champion twice. Hans also won two Young Rider National Champion titles before moving into seniors. After leaving his father's stable, Hans rode for Pierre Baldeck and then Hans Brändlin.
He counts being placed in the Grand Prix at Aachen as one of the most memorable moments of his career. Hans has become a regular Nation's Cup team member for Germany and in 2013, he qualified for his first FEI World Cup Final. His best-loved horses have been Magnus Romeo, Embassy and Constantin, and his advice to other riders is to "always be fair to your horses". His ambition is to compete at an Olympics.
