Julia Hagreaves (8 April 1986) rides for Australia and lives in Bonn, Germany, where she runs her own stable, Copabella Sporthorses. She is engaged to international top rider Denis Lynch (IRL) since September 2016. She grew up with horses, her mother was a rider and her father is breeding Thoroughbreds.
Julia started riding at the age of seven at the Royl Hong Kong Jockey Club. She was born in Hong Kong, China and lived in the United States of America before moving to Australia with her family at age 11.
She relocated to the Netherlands in May 2011 in order to prepare for the 2012 Olympic Games in London with fellow Australian showjumper Edwina Tops-Alexander. “I was incredibly lucky to have a mentor like Edwina, she has been a huge inspiration and has always been incredibly generous with her knowledge. I'm very glad I moved to Europe when I did, I really needed the time to adjust to the conditions and the surroundings.” She is now trained by Alois Pollmann-Schweckhorst.
